Our Rules
- Players must wear team issued jersey/socks when given, and must not alter them in any way unless directed by the MNHL.
- Zero Tolerance Policy rule indicated in USA Hockey Rule Book will be enforced at all times.
- Three penalties in one game means automatic ejection, and a match penalty carries a game suspension.
- Each player is allowed a maximum of 3 goals per game. A 4th goal does not count and brings a delay of game penalty.
- This is a non-checking league and body checking is prohibited. Incidental contact happens, but it must never be intentional or forceful, and every player is expected to skate with full control at all times. Not keeping control and boarding an opponent or making head contact is a 5-minute major.
- Each team will be allowed 1 respectful C/B player who is expected to play at the level of the league and take on a mentor role.
- Teams should have a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 15 players on their weekly roster, plus 1 goalie.
- If a team needs to forfeit a game the opposing team will be marked as the winner for that game.
- Referees may call a penalty if they judge a play to be unsafe.
- Fill-in players are allowed if a team's roster falls below 10 players. The captain requests one and the Commissioner approves it.
- Sliding on the ice to block a shot or pass is considered unsafe and will result in a penalty.
- No slap shots — winding up creates dangerous pucks and sticks, so keep shots to wrist or snap style.
